The first look from Dhanush’s Hollywood debut, The Extraordinary Journey of the Fakir, is out. However, in his slick blue suit, Dhanush looks nothing like a ‘fakir’.
Ken Scott’s “The Extraordinary Journey of the Fakir” has lured a flurry of foreign distributors in the run up to the American Film Market, where TF1 Intl. is shopping the pic.
The film, based on Romain Puértolas’ novel The Extraordinary Journey of the Fakir Who Got Trapped in an Ikea Wardrobe is being directed by Ken Scott. According to a report in Variety, the film has been bombarded with several offers from distributors who want to buy it.

In the first look, Dhanush is seen with French actor Berenice Bejo (of The Artist) who is showing him something in her hand while a big crowd behind them looks on. The film also stars Barkhad Abdi of Captain Phillips, Erin Moriarty of Blood Father and Abel Jafri of Timbuktu. According to early reports, the film was rumoured to feature Uma Thurman and Alexandra Daddario as well.
The book, which was written in 2014 and is translated to 35 languages, tells the story of an Indian boy who embarks on a long journey to find his father.
